WanderWay is an independent scenic drive and sightseeing navigation app for iPhone and Apple CarPlay. Built by Derek Boyer in Waverly, Ohio, WanderWay helps road trippers and weekend drivers uncover historic landmarks, covered bridges, and scenic backroads without surveillance tracking or recurring subscriptions.
Inspired by Jordan
The idea for WanderWay began on weekend drives through southern Ohio. My wife Jordan had wanted an app for a long time: a way to learn about the places we pass, spot historic covered bridges before we miss them, and weave impromptu discoveries into our afternoons.
Every standard map app pushed us onto multilane interstates and concrete bypasses just to save two minutes. We wanted the opposite: to take scenic backroads, learn local history, and know exactly how much time an interesting detour would add before making the turn.

WanderWay is crafted in Waverly, Pike County, Ohio (US). Grounded in the rolling Appalachian foothills, where winding river valleys and rural backroads showcase the joy of unhurried driving.
